On December 31st, 2023, AWS will end support for the go1.x Lambda runtime and begin using a custom provided.al2 runtime. This affects the Buildkite Elastic CI Stack from v5.x.x to below v6.8.0.
If you’re using a version of the Elastic CI Stack affected by this change, we strongly recommend you upgrade to a more recent version before December 31st, 2023, to avoid potential issues or downtime as a result of this change.
Elastic CI Stack v6.8.0 includes the changes required to use the new provided.al2 runtime from the Agent Scaler. At the time of writing, v6.10.0 is the latest version of the agent, and there are instructions for upgrading in the release notes.
We also recommend upgrading if you are on an older or custom version of the Elastic CI Stack.
